What has happened?

The CWU has formally notified Royal Mail they plan to call on their members who collect, sort and deliver parcels and letters to take national strike action on Wednesday 14 December, Thursday 15 December, Friday 23 December and Saturday 24 December 2022.

 

How does this affect you?

Customers should expect items to be subject to delay the day before, during or the days immediately following industrial action. Therefore, please allow additional time for delivery - we currently estimate 2-4 days of additional time.

 

Tracked 24 / Special Delivery, will they arrive the next day?

Royal Mail has provided the following information

Special Delivery items will be prioritised on days of strike action and after strike action has finished. Customers should expect some Special Delivery items to be subject to delay if posted the day before, during or the days immediately following strike action. We will prioritise and deliver as many Special Delivery items as resources allow.

 

We cannot however guarantee delivery by 9am or 1pm next day for items posted from; Wednesday 23 November up to and including 3 December 2022 and items posted from Thursday 8 December 2022 until further notice. We will suspend the delivery guarantee for these specified periods.

 

Tracked 24 items will be prioritised for delivery the day after any industrial action. Customers should expect some Tracked 24 items to be subject to delay if posted the day before, during or the days immediately following industrial action.
